Space Activities in Colombia

In Colombia, space activities have been consolidated in recent years by various public and private organizations, increasing participation in various sectors of society, fostering the integration of amateurs and professionals from various fields with the aim of participating in multiple events national and international related with the sciences space.

The persons involved with SGAC Latin America in Colombia, apart from its NPoC, who support, participate and organize various events, there is a group of people who support these activities with the aim of generating more and more areas, encouraging the outreach and transfer of knowledge, in addition to supporting with actions the integration of Latin America. The following is a summary of activities in this year focused on the participation of children and young people, and events of great impact in society which can generate greater influence over time.

Colombian Space Commission CCE

The CCE is the gateway, through which, Colombia can achieve strengthening of knowledge of the Earth and Outer Space by mean of processes of coordination, agreement, institutional and social participation, including modern technologies and the information provided by missions on communications, Earth observation and satellite navigation. This is carried out from the perspective of increasing the productivity, efficiency and competitiveness of economic sectors that demand geospatial information.

The CCE was created by the Presidential Decree 2442, July 2006 and at present the Agustín Codazzi Geographic Institute undertakes the Executive Secretariat to 2010.
