The objectives of this regional Workshop was to increase the awareness of managers and decision makers dealing with environmental issues of the potential benefits of using space technologies within the area of forest management, environmental security, natural hazard prevention and mitigation.

Conclusion:
Space technology is necessary for forest management; however, proper training of experts is necessary for capacity building.UNOOSA and ESA will arrange another workshop on the remote sensing for capacity building in the year 2009.
