Tel Aviv University, School of Physics and Astronomy
Our school is organized in three departments — Astronomy and Astrophysics, Condensed Matter Physics, and Particle Physics. We also have research groups in applied physics, in bioinformatics, in medical physics, and in plasma physics. We currently employ an academic staff of 45 faculty members, teaching more than 800 undergraduate and graduate students.
Our school offers seven undergraduate B.Sc. programs, including joint programs with Mathematics, with Computer Science, and with Geophysics; a double degree program in Physics and Electrical Engineering; and joint degree programs with other faculties. We offer three graduate programs — M.Sc., Ph.D., and a direct Ph.D. track — in most research fields of experimental and theoretical physics. These programs are highly appreciated internationally, and a large number of our graduates have gone on to leading positions in academic institutions and in industry, in Israel and abroad.
