Dear All,

I think SGAC can start to publish a magazine quarterly in a year. SGAC can invite their all members to send their writing about their country' space science activities, usefulness, common people thinking etc which related with space.

And a copy send to the every national point of contact and good witter will get appreciation certificate from SAGC. This way SGAC members will be more active and we will get to know more deeply the every member's thought.

This printed magazine will create new chapter for SGAC I think it.

Best regards
Nitto Ronjon Bormon

I like the concept... Does

I like the concept...

Does SGAC have the funds to do this?

Perhaps start with a PDF style news letter and allow people to submit short essays. Then move more toward a printed magazine or even an academic journal in the future once we secure dedicated funds and more active members.

Also, regarding the magazine... we could sell advertisement space. It would be prime for companies looking to recruit space professionals.

In fact Space Generation

In fact Space Generation recently launched it's newsletter!

From an announcement on 10th Feb:

SGAC has started an all-new Newsletter this year to feature the
stories, articles, events and announcements that matter to you! You
can find the Feb 2008 issue on the SGAC Website: http://www.spacegeneration.org/fileshare/files/124/SGAC_Newsletter/SGAC_...

If you cannot get the link to work, find the 'Navigation' menu on the
left hand side of the website - under which is Fileshare and the copy
is available for you to download and view.
This is YOUR newsletter, and we invite you to submit anything you wish
to share with our youth community in the coming issues. We are also
looking for interested and motivated individuals who would like to
help us put it together.

Also, please share this newsletter with all space youth in your local
and regional universities, clubs, institutions. For all wanting to
circulate this in hard copy, please write to the
spacegen.news@gmail.com address and we can supply you with a grayscale
version too. We look forward to hearing from you with your comments,
suggestions and contributions!

yeah... it's a start... but

yeah... it's a start... but it's not there yet. What Nitto is talking about is much more than what we have as a newsletter.

What is the mission of the current Newsletter... what is SGAC trying to accomplish with it?

Are we looking to do a print news letter or a web based one? These would be set up very differently and having one document for both needs is not effective.

If we want people to read it, it has to relate to the audience.

My first thought is on Upcoming Events... There are many more than 4 events happening world wide relating to space. We should at least have "Top ten events" and then a link to the website for a comprehensive calendar of all space events we know of.

Also, lets not reinvent the wheel... What about having Planetary Society, National Space Society, and ISU each submit a column each month?
