THE SECRET BEHIND YURI`S NIGHT
This topic aimed to discuss on the secret behind Yuri`s Night, as we all understand that in every 12th April we celebrate Yuri`s Night, but somebody might ask a question that WHY Yuri`s Night?Does it mean that Yuri Gagarin went to the moon at night?
If I have not mistaken very much, Yuri Gagarin never went to moon. He was set to orbit just. And correcting this, yes you are right, Gagarin had been set to orbit on this date. The aim of the celebration is basically attracting peoples attention to space sector by means of colorful celebration :-)

The secret is easy. Everyone loves a party. It just so happens the most space enthusiasts and hard-working people in the industry don't party that much, which creates a demand and a problem:
Problem - space geeks like us have trouble throwing good parties.
Demand - space geeks like us need an excuse to get out more often, and this is perfect.
Also, it's at night because that's when parties happen.
I think you're right. but Yuri's night is a party for EVERYONE not just 'space geeks' like us. I organized a Yuri's night party at my university (which I wasn't in town for) but I know that we had about 45+ people attend and from what I heard only about half of them would be classified as your space interested people.
I think Yuri's night is a HUGE opportunity to get other people interested in space and the more people that we can get on our side the better.
Yuri's Night is brilliant and I think the secret to making it work is to make it a fun time for EVERYONE. I can't wait for next April we've got big plans for next years party.
