Dear Spacers,

I don't think that there was much real news to come out of the X-Prize Cup.Not much has been said. Well, in order to supplement what you may have received, I have blogged the Cup at my website

http://www.moonmall.org

Here is the blog entry for that day.

also there is a photo gallery at this address. Please notice the lack of attendance. This in contrast to the large attendance for X-Prize Cup 2005 at the Las Cruces Airport. Also in contrast to any Holoman Air Force Base airshow in previous years.

I'm sorry to say but the X-Prize Cup really sucked. Thank you for reading.

The true numbers behind the 2007 X PRIZE Cup

Official Numbers for the X PRIZE Cup:
Total Attendance for the main event (Saturday and Sunday): 85,000 people
Total Attendance for Education Day: 6,000 students

This is over four times the number of people who attended the 2006 X PRIZE Cup (where 20,000 people were in attendance).

There were a number of positives coming out of combining the Cup with the Holloman Air show, including there was always something flying in the air throughout the day, unlike years past where there were 30-40 minute gaps of dead time.

The only disappointments this year were Wirefly dropping out as a sponsor at the last minute, causing a number of Space things having to be scaled back or cut at the last minute.

Also the Southern New Mexico school systems were very resistant in many cases to giving their teachers access to school busses in order to attend the Cup.

Also it may be worth noting that the above individual has been spamming the above message to a number of space forums. His negative stance on the Cup is probably just an effort to increase traffic to his blog.
