SGS Aims and Output

The SGS will take full advantage of the unique opportunities that WSC offers to represent the global youth perspective on space issues to world leaders. Output from the Summit will be presented at the Space Policy Summit and the IAC Technical Sessions during WSC as well as being available in a proceedings document during WSC.

This vision includes three key elements:
  • A declaration by youth on how humanity should use space

  • Recommendations by the world's youth for what should and should not be done in space policy and space activities in the near and far future.

  • Expression by the young people of what they are doing and intend to do to facilitate and take action on these recommendations.

This shall be delivered to the space community through 3 modes of output:
  1. A vision document structured around four tracks of the Space Policy Summit that may be presented directly or via the Space Policy Summit task forces (prepared prior to SGS)

  2. A set of oral presentations that represent the full scope, vision, and activities of the world's young people, to be prepared by the SGS delegates and presented during the technical sessions of World Space Congress

  3. A proceedings document that will contain the vision document, all WSC presentations, and any other technical reports from the SGS. A limited number of these proceedings will be printed and available in the SGS exhibit booth during the week of WSC

In addition, we shall aim to:
  • Strengthen the international network of young people and provide a forum for continuation of ongoing project planning and task force meetings during the week immediately following the SGS.

  • Hold a careers day
