About SGAC SPIDER Group
On 25th of June 2009 the SGAC ad-hoc group on disaster management, risk-reduction and capacity building went online as a youth group to assist the United Nations-SPIDER (Space based Information for Disaster Management and Emergency Response). The group collects students and young professionals who have come together at Space Generation Advisory Council to create better awareness of UN-SPIDER’s activities and programs and would like local communities, NGO groups and other organizations to robustly tackle different disasters.
We hope that general good people of the world will also benefit from our activities here. We invite everyone who is interested in our work and that of the UN-SPIDER to get in touch. Our members are from industry, academia, governmental agencies and mainly are working in deriving solutions from space based information.
