Special Issue August 2008: The militarization of outer space

Dear Reader,

The US' ballistic missile defense (BMD) plans have resulted in renewed
concern over the militarization of outer space. Many fear that such a
system may lead to increased use of outer space and would eventually
fuel an arms race in or to outer space.
This newsletter will briefly outline the legal aspects of the

DARING TO DREAM

life is such an experience, yet we sometimes just drift from day to day. sometimes we are too busy to take notice of another day turning into yesterday, sometimes our attention is fixed on tomorrow we dont notice today...... or we wish we had a different life altogether and barely live the one we have!
but for all of us there is one thing we wish for that might seem impossible to get in this life ...for whatever reason, but at least we can dream right?

dreaming has its advantages...
-its private and we dont have to tell anyone,

Tourism and cultural haritage and space technology

Dear All,

We SGAC can ask help to UN,European space agency/NASA for data on tourist/cultural heritage spots in under developed countries.

Then that data we can share with every countries national point of contact. This data we can share with our government/civil society/ business communities.

we can show them how space technology can play a good role for tourism sector and how can government/country can be benefited by using space technology.

For motivation of government/civil society/business people we need to do something real.

teaching resources for space education

I found a good website that contains resources for those of us who teach, or want to teach space education to kids of all ages. Check it out (the link is to the teaching resources page, but the site has a lot of good stuff on it):

Can we relate this business model to space?

Hello everyone,

I wanted to see if we could apply a business model I am somewhat familiar with to space:

My mother co-owns a company that produces what are known as Life Care Plans and Medicare Set-asides. When individuals are in workers compensation injury accidents or other insured injury accidents, these are reposts that list their medical history and estimate what financing will be necessary for the person to have their medical needs taken care of for the rest of their life (which is also estimated depending on the injury).

space activities in Africa

Africa as a continent ventured into space in the 60's with countries like algeria and morocco. other countries followed suit with capacity building especially in satellite remote sensing technology applications. today in many african countries satellite services are avialable for communication, navigation earth observation, telemedicine etc and many countries have space services regulatory bodies, with some having fully operational space agencies.
