On 7th August 2000 a group of 25 active Hams launched a new Amateur Radio Club known as ” MUMBAI AMATEUR RADIO SOCIETY “. M.A.R.S is a Society of active Amateur Radio operators in the city of Mumbai, the commercial capital of India.

The Nehru Planetarium, commissioned on 3rd March, 1977 has grown into a Centre for scientific study of astronomy and for meeting of scientists and scholars for discussions and lectures, arranged periodically on various stellar and Astronomical events.

The Bangalore Astronomical Society (BAS) is a registered, non-profit amateur astronomy organisation based in Bangalore, India.

History

The Society grew out of a community on a popular social networking site and collaborated with other e-groups to come together as an organisation. The society had been functioning informally for months before it registered formally on Nov 6th, 2006.
