To Mars
5/28/2002 - Madrid

one of the biggest, most important discoveries in the last 10,000 years happened today. i'm not kidding. they discovered lots and lots of water (sub-strata, as ice) on mars. the implications of this are staggering. this most likely means that the human exploration of mars could happen a lot more easily than had previously been imagined. and it has great implications for the exploration of the rest of the solar system, too.
maybe i'm just a big nerd, but i'm really excited about this.
water on mars. it's so exciting.
now if we can just stop trying to kill each other long enough to get there. just imagine what would happen if all of the money spent on weapons and defence were instead spent on the exploration of outer space? we would be on mars in 5 to 10 years. maybe we should all agree to stop trying to kill each other just long enough to get to mars.
