• Recruited and managed an multi-state team of students and young professionals who formed the executive committee to oversee the design and implementation of conference and who promoted the conference at their universities, enlisted support from local faculty and liaised with prospective delegates.
• Enlisted the support of the Institute of Engineers Australia, the Department of Industry Science and Resources, the Australian Space Industry Chamber of Commerce to secure $100,000 in cash and in-kind sponsorship to enable the participation of international presenters, sponsor selected students to attend the conference and subsidise accommodation and special events.
• Led the development of the organisation’s conference program featuring leading local and international industry innovators. Secured the participation of several internationally renowned keynote speakers.
• Generated support from the Liberal and Labor Parties and the Australian Democrats for the Australian Youth Space Charter subsequently presented to the Senate which elevated public and political awareness of the underlying issues and increased sponsorship potential as a result of the media exposure of subsequent events.
Co-Founder, Australian Students Space Association/Victorian Youth Space Forum (1999)
• Recruited undergraduate and post graduate volunteers to design the program, approach university faculties and enlist in-kind support.
• Coordinated the design and managed the execution of a one week peer-to-peer education forum organised by tertiary student volunteers who led and coordinated workshops and post graduate students who conducted lectures and demonstrations. Areas covered included Space Medicine, Astronomy, Aerospace Engineering, Astrophysics, Space Law & Policy, Launch Technology and Remote Sensing.
• Enlisted the support of the Department of State Development, the Department of Education, the University of Melbourne and RMIT, Monash, Latrobe and Swinburne Universities to achieve cash and in-kind support used to subsidise administrative costs and to fund special events.
